Help:How to create a new hospital page
From World Top MD
| Before trying to create a new hospital page, search our pages to ensure this hospital still has no page about it.
If a page is found, you can edit it. Check the help pages for assistant in editing articles on World Top MD.
If a page is found but its name needs renaming (e.g., it was created not according to the following hospital naming convention, etc.), consult the help pages about how to rename a page.
To create a new hospital page follow these four simple steps:
Creating a new page/article
Determining the name for the new page
Before we can create a page we need to give it a name.
A hospital page name is constructed from the hospital's name followed by the country code and state code (if applicable) where this hospital is located, all inside parenthesis.
In case of duplicate names, you can add the county/city name inside the parenthasis.
- Example: The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (US-PA)
The country code is required to create different articles/pages in the case there are two or more hospitals with the same name.
|Note: If the word "Hospital" is not part of the hospital name, please avoid using it in the page name. You'll still be able to enter it later in the infobox.|
Creating the new page
The simplest (and quickest) method to create a new page is to use the wiki's URL.
The URL to any wiki article is usually something like this: http://www.worldtopmd.com/wiki/ARTICLE (*)
| Note (*): If the article is to be on one of the locale worldtopmd.com sites (e.g., Russian, German, etc.), than you'll need to use thats wiki domain as follows:
Replace ARTICLE with the name of the new page (i.e., hospital name + country code) that you wish to create.
- Following the above example, this would be: http://www.worldtopmd.com/wiki/The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (US-PA)
...You will be taken to a blank page which indicates that no article of that name exists yet. Clicking the "Create" tab at the top of the page will take you to the edit page for that article, where you can create the new hospital page.
|Note: You must be logged in and verify your email address in order to create/edit content.|
Adding an infobox to your physician page
An infobox is a fixed template where you can insert the most important details on the hospital (e.g., logo/image, address, type, expertise, etc.)
First thing to do is to copy into the new blank page an empty infobox_hospital template.
Fill-in the hospital details inside the infobox
Fill in as much information as available in the infobox template fields. Do not worry if not all the information is available at the time of creating the page. You'll be able to return and add/delete/modify the information in the future.
It is strongly suggested to read carefully the infobox_hospital template documentation to learn what type of information is expected and/or allowed in it.
Enter free text about the hospital
After you've created the infobox, you will probably want to add free text about the hospital.
Inside the editing box, under the infobox template, you can add free text. To enter free text you must follow the wiki standards (see the help pages for information on wiki writing).
